Design Through My Eyes: A Student's Journey
Uncovering Different Aspects of Design as a Student
My Story
My journey in design was sparked by a strong interest in the built environment and its impact on communities. This passion led me to study Environmental Design at Inscape Pretoria, where I deepened my knowledge of sustainability and architectural practices.

With a strong focus on sustainability, I am always looking for innovative ways to integrate smart energy solutions into built environments. One of my most meaningful projects, the Community Health and Wellness Center, reimagines traditional healthcare spaces by incorporating nature, flexible layouts, and renewable energy systems. The Pavilion, which is one of my favourite designs, embodies my belief in creating spaces that foster a connection with nature. Using natural materials, geometric patterns, and earthy tones, I designed a space that creates a sense of warmth and tranquility. I strongly believe that architecture should evoke comfort and well-being, making people feel a sense of belonging the moment they step inside.

This year, I took the initiative to pursue my Honours degree, driven by my passion for expanding my knowledge and challenging my design thinking. Studying at this level has pushed me to identify and analyze real-world design problems through research to develop thoughtful and impactful solutions. Design has always been a passion of mine. I love exploring its many aspects not just within the built environment, but also other fields that offer creative solutions to real-world problems. For me, design is more than just aesthetics, it is about identifying a problem, understanding it deeply, and then crafting a thoughtful solution to impact the people in a positive way.

This blog uncovers and explores the various written aspects of design by showcasing some of the written work I have developed throughout my studies.
